The finalists for the 2021 British Packaging Awards label category are announced.
Copeland smugglers reserve rum – label maker
The Smugglers Reserve Double Wood Rum label draws on the history of piracy, which was very common in the 1700s and 1800s, and brought the Belfast Bay Antigua, which originally produced smuggled rum, to Belfa, the rum that was subsequently consumed. A connection is established between Lake Stout. It combines images depicting two locations on the sea-as well as beautiful illustrations of parrots and puffins, which are synonymous with each region.
Labels are the main form of product branding and must immediately convey the uniqueness and quality of the product. Smugglers Reserve is a high-quality mixed small batch rum. The label details can enhance the quality and origin of the product-a blend of Barbados dark rum and Donahadi rum. The label is printed on Fasson Arctic White 90 gsm FSC paper at 1200 dpi on the Xeikon CX 3 digital press, ensuring that the details in the illustrations are preserved. Then the printing is done independently in two separate steps on the ABG Digicon 3 finishing line.
Established in 2016, Copeland Distillery is a premium craft producer of whiskey, gin and rum in Donahadi, County Down. The creative agency Ketchup Design is located in nearby Carrickfergus. These labels are produced in Bradford, Yorkshire.
